R.A.V.A.G.E. (which stands for Raging Atheists Voving A Gory End)

"Voving"? Should that be "Vowing" or not? This is hardly my specialised subject, so I'm leaving the actual article well alone, but I thought it worth mentioning. Loganberry 04:32, 29 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

?

[edit]

I recently read (on BNR metal) that Kelly Shaefer & Rand Burkey had talked about remforming Atheist, is there any truth in this that would be worth adding to the article? Avador 00:37, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I've read something similar recently, but I doubt the reunion will take place (although it would be cool).—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 213.107.4.172 (talkcontribs) 15:34, 19 December 2005 (UTC).[reply]

not death metal

[edit]

ummm I would really not classify them as death metal... more like experimental thrash—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.139.207.240 (talkcontribs) 11:18, 20 March 2006 (UTC).[reply]

they are clearly in the same vein as cynic (which are regarded as (prog/tech/whatever) death metal) as well as Death themselves. Bay Area Death sounds like this... it has nothing to do with Morbid Angel's kind of death metal just to give an example.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 87.196.71.7 (talkcontribs) 19:15, 7 June 2006 (UTC).[reply]
Death/thrash is the most appropriate description. Pasajero 19:36 21 August 2006 (UTC)

Another former Bass Player

[edit]

Another Former Bass Player is Kyle Sokol from Tampa, Florida, USA. The time frame was mid 90's I believe.

He did work with the former Disincarnate singer Bryan Cegon as well as Chuck Schuldiner prior to his death. He works in tampa as a session player for many bands in the south Eastern USA, ands plays bass for a metal act called Must Not Kill (www.myspace.com/mustnotkill) and also a Punk Act Rude Squad (www.myspace.com/rudesquad)

His endorsements include M Basses (www.mbasses.com) and AccuGroove bass cabinets (www.accugroove.com) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.31.19.50 (talk) 16:32, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Atheist Logo.png

[edit]

Image:Atheist Logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:28, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Current Lineup 2011

[edit]

Hey guys, this is Travis Morgan, I'm the new bass player of Atheist...

Just wanted to let you guys know that Johnathan Thompson is no longer in the band, he got a job as a surgeon tech and quit the band in February. Jason Holloway is playing guitar for us now, he's a really cool guy and great guitarist. I'm kind of a wikipedia noob, so if someone wants to update the page with all the proper wiki-etiquette, that'd be awesome. Cheers! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.242.205.214 (talk) 06:06, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
