Thanks for writing something on uwm! I'd always wondered what it actually was (I wrote most of the present text of twm), but I couldn't find any info on the web. Do you have any references or sources to add to uwm? Printed ones are fine - David Gerard 01:32, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Sorry I took so long to reply...my usual computer has been inaccessible to me since May, and I keep forgetting to log in...
- Anyway, my main sources for the article have just been the X.Org archives ([1]) and old Usenet postings via Google Groups. There's a source code distribution available from [2]; trying to compile it was a bit of an ordeal, and it crashes whenever it reads a config file...but I got it to run on my Debian Sarge system, and I took a screenshot that I'll probably be posting when I get my computer back next month. - Beinsane 21:11, 15 August 2005 (UTC)
- Heh, fantastic! Put your patches up on the Web and you'll be linkable as the maintainer ;-p Links to the Google Groups posts would be perfectly good as refs IMO. I've added a bit more stuff to it. I also created Ardent Window Manager ... originally written by Jordan Hubbard, of FreeBSD fame - David Gerard 22:07, 6 September 2005 (UTC)
Thank you for removing Memorable Events. I think the rest of us had just gotten tired of fighting about it, but it really doesn't belong. DenisMoskowitz 02:23, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- Think nothing of it. (And, uh, sorry for adding it in the first place; I was young and naive at the time. Now I'm old and naive...no, wait.) Beinsane 02:40, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
The article UWM (computing) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Notability is not esteblished.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Czarkoff (talk) 11:48, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
