My Little Pony-related redirects
[edit]Hello. An anonymous editor has just requested that a plethora of My Little Pony-related redirects be created at Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Redirects. Would all of them really be useful? Thanks, Mz7 (talk) 23:11, 6 March 2016 (UTC)
Is it true? Is it notable? Is it verifiable?
[edit]MLP, like Transformers, is a Hasbro product/franchise. After Hasbro re-launched Transformers as Transformers: Generation 2 (or G2) in the 1990s, fans retroactively called the original Transformers series "Generation 1" (or G1), a name which Hasbro later made official.
Is this why MLP collectors refer to their toys as G1, G2, etc? (As opposed to "series III", "series IV", or something.)

Citations and Reliable Sources Needed
[edit]There are two sections of this article, Imitations and In Popular Culture that do not contain citations, and another section, Media Adaptations that needs additional citations. Additionally, many of the sources that are cited in this article come from Hasbro Corporation, the toy company that produces the My Little Pony product. This introduces a conflict of interest. Also, the content of the article is geared for a very specific audience, primarily My Little Pony consumers, and doesn't appeal to a broad audience. --Zohes (talk) 21:31, 31 January 2017 (UTC)
- Agreed. What's the customary method of dealing with entirely uncited (and/or obviously commercial) sections? Delete the sections entirely? NewkirkPlaza (talk) 20:17, 6 May 2017 (UTC)
Sales of G3
[edit]Interesting to track the sales of G3 toys according to Hasbro press releases. Cumulative sales from 2003:
- 2004 - 4 million (+4M)
- 2005 - 20 million (+16M)
- 2006 - 40 million (+20M)
- 2008 - 50 million (+20M, but over two years) "and approximately 100 million globally"
- 2010 - 100 million globally (+0)
Seems like the product line died off in 2008. We know that Hasbro were already looking to relaunch the brand in 2009, and that G1 died abruptly merely two years after its peak popularity. I wonder if there's any source that talks about the life-cycle of the MLP brand. Furry-friend (talk) 06:50, 2 February 2017 (UTC)
Fright-Mares

I wish to add information about the latest series in the my little pony show that is missing. there is a massive amount of new info that is missing. FluttershyEQD (talk) 06:01, 6 November 2018 (UTC)
- Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. DannyS712 (talk) 06:08, 6 November 2018 (UTC)
Steve D'Aguanno's Role?
[edit]The introductory paragraph of the article mentions three names- Zacherle, Muenchinger and D'Aguanno- as the "developers" of the first toys. The history section goes on to state that the My Pretty Pony figurine was created by the illustrator, Bonnie Zacherle, and the sculptor, Charles Muenchinger, but does not mention Steve D'Aguanno. In fact his name appears to be mentioned nowhere but the (unsourced) line in the introduction. Surely, if he warrants such a mention, then the role he played in the development of the line should be explained in the article somewhere? Dorm41baggins (talk) 05:09, 15 October 2019 (UTC)
Table in Television Series Section edit request
[edit]The table in the section titled "Television Series" indicates the first season of the first generation aired in 1966-1967 rather than the actual year of 1986 (as noted in, for example, the page for the series itself). Note that the first season was fully in 1986, while the second is correctly listed as having aired in 1987.108.45.91.73 (talk) 05:39, 6 December 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks for poinitg taht out. I've corrected it. Gial Ackbar (talk) 11:13, 6 December 2020 (UTC)

Change "Such symbols are referred to in the two most recent incarnations as "cutie marks"'" to "Such symbols are referred to in the three most recent incarnations as "cutie marks"" as Generations 3, 4 and 5 use the term. CtronBlue (talk) 19:58, 29 December 2022 (UTC)
Needs Source
[edit]Under the "Fan-made sexualization" section:
> A study suggests about 19% of these fans, have engaged in "clopping". Although the fan base is primarily in the US and UK, most clop content is consumed in Slavic Europe.
This needs a source. Dmarj97 (talk) 08:06, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
