Trivia
[edit]I take offense that the following was removed from this article for reasons described below that I do not find sufficient. It's actually more potentially obscure information like this which would make wikipedia more useful as a source for information. I came to this page tonight specifically to see if Don Joyce's use of 12 O'Clock was mentioned. Don Joyce died a few years back so I was thinking maybe if it wasn't included, I'd do something I have intentionally avoided doing for years and add to a wikpedia article, because I think Joyce is worth making an exception. I am appalled that not only was this removed and left in the talk section but that no ruling has been made on this in over a decade? It's precisely things like this which made me stop contributing to Wikipedia years ago. What's the point in contributing if your contribution may just be dismissed by someone else for inconsequential reasons, and there's nowhere to turn for a fair and just assessment? It shouldn't hurt anyone for me to return the original text to its rightful place, but what's the point if someone else will just undo my effort? ZachsMind (talk) 01:56, 1 January 2019 (UTC)

I just removed this from the article, pending better integration as per WP:TRIV:
- The second part of the section labeled "12 O'Clock" is used as the theme for the KPFA radio program Over the Edge, hosted by Don Joyce and featuring contributions from his group Negativland. -- Agnamaracs 03:18, 18 April 2007

- Oh, I'm sorry. I thought that the thing up there that said "WikiProject:Albums" meant that you actually wanted more information on the album and its use in popular culture. I foolishly thought that because the article listed the album's use in Cosmos, certainly a radio program in its twenty-sixth year, hosted by a notorious experimental band who has been in the news at least twice, and spawning nine CD and cassette releases (some on famed independent record label SST) and a live album, is at least worth mentioning as something more than just trivia.
- Seriously. What the hell do you want from me? --(agnamaracs) 02:36, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
- It's not personal, it's for the better of the article. WP:TRIV frowns upon this type of information and section, and for some reason. As I wrote above, it's a matter of better integration with the rest of the article, maybe providing more substance on how H&H has pervaded popular culture. Cosmos is an outstanding example of that, because of its huge viewership, its global audience, and the effect it had on Vangelis' career; I don't think your example is at the same level, and your links don't prove otherwise. Is it harmful to leave this out for the time being? WP is not about everything; quality and balance should prevail over quantity. As this article is still little more than a stub, there's lots of room for this article to grow on a balanced and harmonious way. --maf (talk-cont) 07:47, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
