Promotional
[edit]This promotional material has a cut 'n paste feel to it.
- Indeed, Wetman, it is. [1]. I've already reported it, but well spotted. The next step when you recognize what looks like a copyvio is to shoot on over to Google search for a line of text from the article. I try to avoid using the first sentence, because often a user will modify it, for whatever reason. If you establish that it's a copyvio (that is, if there's no free license listed on the page it's copied from), then you can replace the page's content with "{{copyvio|url=http://www.example.com/}}". Once you've done that, head off to Wikipedia:Copyright problems and report it there by posting "[[Article]] from [http://www.example.com]. ~~~~" And there you have it, a reported copyvio. Have fun. - Vague | Rant 05:29, November 25, 2004 (UTC)
THIS ARTICLE IS FULL OF BIAS.
[edit]It must be subjected to criticism for the benefit of those who want to know about this cult in the Philippines. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Oseanic1980 (talk • contribs) 08:27, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- Wikipedia articles should be in a 'NEUTRAL POINT OF VIEW!. What you obviously want is to make this article negatively speaking, so that the claim of the Berans about them as a cult will be seen. STOP this. I'm annoyed already of users like you, 3 users like you are hard to deal, especially the one that harrased me before. 222.127.206.111 (talk) 08:12, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, it is promotional, hence, I added the latest murder and legal controversies to make it neutral and balanced
Controversies and Legal Problems
[edit]- Eliseo Soriano was placed on the Philippines Bureau of Immigration watch list on November 11, 2005 on charges of rape [1] filed by Daniel Veridiano, a former Communications and IT department head of Ang Dating Daan who later joined Iglesia ni Cristo. Macabebe Regional Trial Court Judge Manuel Siyangco issued the warrant of arrest. The charge was dismissed but was later refiled in a higher court by the country’s Department of Justice Secretary, Raul Gonzales, who is not in anyway involved with the case.[2] Soriano has denied the rape allegation, saying Veridiano was retaliating after he was expelled from Ang Dating Daan in August 2005 after complaints of misappropriation of church funds and that Veridiano sexually molested 14 staff members. On May 3, 2006, in a 5-page resolution, Pampanga acting provincial prosecutor Jaime Umpa recommended the filing of rape case against Ang Dating Daan leader Eliseo Soriano and allowed him to post a P400,000 bail bond (P200,000 for each count).[3]
- In February 2008, Apalit Municipal officials led by Mayor Oscar Tetangco Jr led the closure of at least four buildings inside the MCGI compound in Barangay Sampaloc, Apalit, Pampanga. The buildings include a chapel, museum and two residential houses, which were constructed without building permits, municipal officials said. The resolution stated that the Municipality of Apalit received numerous reports from insiders, former members and workers of MCGI, that a portion of the property was being utilized for burial purposes without any approved documents from the local government. The church claimed that there were only 2 graves and that they were the bodies of Mr. Soriano's parents. The Apalit municipal treasurer also stated that MCGI failed to pay its real property taxes for the years 2006 until 2007.[4] This followed a series of lawsuits directed at the church from former members, as well as the church's television programs being taken off the air in 2005. The church has also had conflict with Islamics, and at one point a grenade was thrown into the MGCI compound, after incendiary comments made by Soriano, against Muslims, were broadcast on Philippine television.
- In 2007, Soriano was forced to flee the Philippines due to threats on his life.[5]
- On April 27, 2008, the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines condemned the murder of Iglesia ni Cristo former minister and UNTV program "X-Man" TV host for the Ang Dating Daan, Marcos Balais Mataro, 40, in San Simon, Pampanga. Mataro is the 2nd local mediaman to be killed in 2008 and the 56th since Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo became president in 2001.[6] --Florentino floro (talk) 04:33, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
