[edit]Shouldn't the link be put at the end of the article? Or even put on to a page about the book itself? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.189.91.28 (talk) 22:39, 9 December 2004 (UTC)
- Scratch that; I can't find anything on the link having anything to do with Ms. Speare or her book. I strongly suggest someone with appropriate powers remove it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.189.91.28 (talk) 22:50, 9 December 2004 (UTC)
- I think that this page is very informational, but I do suggest that the links should be taken off because the links do not work. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.52.209.145 (talk) 22:15, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

References
[edit]I converted two {{cite news}} to {{cite web}} and two publ date from yyyy-mm-dd to mdy format. One of the latter conversions was 2004-04-01 to April 2004. The linked webpage actually states "(c) 1999" and "Last updated: 04/04" but internal evidence shows that the latter means April 2004, not 1999-04-04.
We may be confused about that source (McElmeel 2004). I don't notice this at a glance when I tweaked its code. It seems to be a webpage associated with a book, maintained by the author of the book. It seems to be her personal website, including some publication data for the book that we have put into the reference. Probably the book publication data belongs only in a note at the end of the reference, whose {{cite web}} content should pertain to the webpage and website only --that is, to our source.
--better yet, someone with access to the book may provide a formal reference to it (100 Most Popular Children's Authors); and, I take for granted, may easily add substantially to this article from its "chapter" on Speare.
