Media coverage
[edit]A suggestion, can we have a media coverage section like on the British equivalent of this page? Dunc_Harris|☺ 21:26, 25 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Get some material and create the section. (SEWilco 05:33, 27 Jun 2005 (UTC))
Medal totals
[edit]Any ideas which of different US medal totals in United_States_at_the_2004_Summer_Olympics#Medals and 2004_Summer_Olympics_medal_count is correct? Weren't there some medal oddities during Men's Gymnastics? (SEWilco 05:33, 27 Jun 2005 (UTC))
- The official Athens Olympic Site say total medal count for the United States says: 35 Gold, 39 Silver, and 29 Bronze. tdwuhs
Taekwondo
[edit]More importantly, where is any mention of it? It's not as though the US didn't win any medals in TKD that year. The US won the men's gold in the middleweight division, and the women's silver in the middleweight division. what gives? mercruz —Preceding comment was added at 05:27, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Size split?
[edit]Split = Article is over 100 kB, and should be split, starting with Medalists. Thoughts? Suggestions?--Jax 0677 (talk) 23:43, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
- Probably best split by sports as other articles like this have been done, that's if you can't reduce the article a bit. Op47 (talk) 18:27, 2 March 2013 (UTC)
- On second thoughts, I have tried reducing the main article to a summary and having a details article. I trust this meets the needs of those who were expecting a readable article, and those who were looking for the details. Op47 (talk) 16:22, 17 May 2013 (UTC)
Cut and paste move
[edit]Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give United States at the 2004 Summer Olympics (details) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into United States at the 2004 Summer Olympics. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen. Thank you.
