Personal notes, that may be of use to guide further research (but should not be considered authoritative): The Green Apple Nasties was involved in dinner theater in Baltimore, MD circa 1970, but the show could not be called a 'musical' if you're referring to a play with a plot. There was no overall plot. I had thought the name The Green Apple Nasties referred to the singing group, which consisted of one woman and three men. The woman in the group was married to one of the other men (not Joel). Iirc, the group had actually formed while they were in the army. They produced an eponymous record, white cover with Silversteinesque drawing of an apple. Among their repertoire were Mister Christopher Columbus (...sailed the sea without a compass / when his crew started a rumpus ...), Rat-a-tat-a-tat (an unrequited love dialog where Joel sang both parts, the suitor in Edwardian English and the woman in the style of Flip Wilson's Geraldine), and a musical version of Shel Silverstein's The Giving Tree. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.139.180.50 (talk) 05:41, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
