Yellow rattle (Rhinanthus minor) is a flowering plant in the family Scrophulariaceae. This family comprises "220-300 genera and 4000-4500 species. The family has a cosmopolitan distribution, with the majority found in temperate areas, including tropical mountains. Other members of the family include Digitalis, Linaria and Verbascum.
