K9 vs K-9
[edit](Created a new section since the previous one is more than a decade old.)
It seems that the spelling "K9" is preferred in common usage, while "K-9" is used very rarely. The below sources provide more solid support for K9:
- 2005 BBC News article
- 2014 BBC information page
- A similar conversion on the Doctor Who Wikia
- The Programme as Broadcast forms from The Invisible Enemy (Doctor Who) (first episode starring K9)
- The Programme as Broadcast forms from A Girl's Best Friend
- Radio Times billings for The Invisible Enemy
I think that the article title along with all references to the name should be changed. Thoughts?

K9 (Doctor Who) → ? – Character has been featured in four television series, two of which are Doctor Who spin-offs and one of which is unrelated to Doctor Who. Due to this I think the article should be moved since the character received main billing at one point or another in all four series. TheDoctorWho (talk) 22:56, 6 June 2019 (UTC)
- K9 (Whoniverse)? I'm not sure a change needs to be made though to be honest, the spin offs are part of the Doctor Who franchise and even K-9 (TV series) doesn't appear to be entirely separate, as per that article "Baker and Tams have confirmed that this K-9 is the original K-9 Mark I, who appeared in Doctor Who". In any case, I would suggest that the character is primarily notable for appearing in the main Doctor Who series. PC78 (talk) 23:25, 6 June 2019 (UTC)
- It could go either way here because it wasn't a BBC production. So you are correct it's not entirely separate but it is enough in my opinion. As for notability I think that the other series hold some weight primarily SJA but the other two as well. TheDoctorWho (talk) 00:35, 7 June 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose - normally this would be K9 (character) since it appears in multiple shows, but that's WP:INCDAB, so using the the first show and the show its most known for is fine. "Whoniverse" is ugly and unprofessional, and no sources use that to refer to the character, so it WP:ASTONISHs for not being natural or recognizable. -- Netoholic @ 08:19, 7 June 2019 (UTC)
- Note: I only used "Whoniverse" above because that's where Doctor Who (franchise) leads you. I wouldn't personally regard it as in improvement on the current title for the same reasons you mention. PC78 (talk) 09:23, 7 June 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose move. The character is predominantly known for his appearances in Doctor Who proper; the fact he appeared elsewhere many decades later doesn't mean his article can't have it as disambiguation. O.N.R. (talk) 21:37, 7 June 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose. Vastly best-known as a companion of the Doctor. -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:34, 12 June 2019 (UTC)
