The article states, "Canada has one of the most centralized political systems of any democracy with vast amounts of power being given to the Prime Minister, with few checks or balances. Most of the major decisions are made by the PM and the PMO's advice plays a major role." Am I the only one with concerns about this section? To which countries is Canada being compared? Canada is being compared to the United States, Britain and most of the other nations of Europe. In terms of how much political power is vested in one person Canada is one of the most centralized. In terms of how much power is given to the federal government, compared to the provincial ones, Canada is one of the most decentralized. The United Kingdom has a Prime Minister's Office. The Government of Canada has an Office of the Prime Minister. Shouldn't this be changed in this article? Escheffel 02:17, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
