Welcome!
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The Five Pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Editing, policy, conduct, and structure tutorial
- Picture tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Naming conventions
- Manual of Style
- If you're ready for the complete list of Wikipedia documentation, there's also Wikipedia:Topical index.
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome! MediaWiki Lyrics Project
[edit]While this sort of thing will never come to fruitation due to current copyright laws, check out www.kiwilyrics.com and let me know what you think. You can reach me at chris[AT]kiwilyrics[DOT]com or just leave a message on my talk page here. Hope you enjoy. - user:defunkt 23:53, 30 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Template:Anon
[edit]Hallo there. I'm just dropping you a note to let you know that the template for welcoming anonymous users is template:anon, and can be added to page by typing {{subst:anon}}. I've left the message on the user page you indicated. Gareth Hughes 16:45, 5 Mar 2005 (UTC)
recent speedy (Ben Galvin)
[edit]I'm afraid that there's just been an edit conflict, both of us adding a speedy delete tag. I didn't quite realise what was happening, and overwrote yours. No problem, except that I wiped the contents (as I thought that there was no point leaving the silliness on show for longer than necessary). I now see from the 'Speedy Deletion' page that I shouldn't have done that. Shall I leave it, or replace the content? Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 22:44, 6 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Fair enough; I'll do it now (feels silly though). Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 22:49, 6 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Hah, it's already gone... Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 22:50, 6 Mar 2005 (UTC)
The template: {{welcome}}
[edit]The above template might suit your purposes. It works like:

Removing your header
[edit]I was a bad boy, I should have been more careful. I took your idea and archived a lot of the polls and associated discussion. Hope I didn't mess it up as much as I did the "-Tabib" forgery.
By the way, for the record (and Tabib undoubtedly would want me to make it plain) User:Tabib did not make those comments, they were made by a person who wishes to discredit him. Because I am helping him, Tabib has been dragged into this discussion by a malicious person who posed as him. --Tony Sidaway|Talk 00:10, 13 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Signing things - thanks
[edit]Thanks for the tip about using ~~~~. (I actually knew about it already but just didn't think to use it that time.) Neow 21:20, Mar 17, 2005 (UTC)
Your sig
[edit]I noticed you're using (or were using) User:Mathx314/sig as your sig. As outlined on [[WP:~~~~#Transclusion.2Ftemplate|WP:~~~~]], this produces a considerable drain on server resources, similar to that produced by stub notices having images in them. While it's nice to have a "short" sig (in terms of wikitext per page), it's yet another server request per instance. If you want to find them (so you can include them in the the pages) just follow this link: Special:Whatlinkshere/User:Mathx314/sig. Feel free to replace them at any time (unless it's someone's talk page, and you have no other reason to give them a "you have new messages" box). Thanks, Alphax τεχ 04:09, 16 May 2005 (UTC)
Mind Benders
[edit]Hello! I've noticed your past interest in Wikipedia:Mind Benders and wanted to share the following announcement with you! I've taken over the responsibilities of Mind Benders, and the page will now be regularly updated. Right now, the pre-round is open (it's more of a creative artistic competition), and round one will open soon (the questions are done, we just need to wait for the pre-round to begin/finish)! So why not check it out? I'll keep you updated! Thanks, Flcelloguy | A note? | Desk 01:37, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)
P.S. Feel free to pass this news on to other Wikipedians.

I noticed you are categorized as a Wikipedian by alignment. If you are in to userboxes, there are now infoboxes available using a standard template. See the alignment category page for details. xaosflux Talk/CVU 18:39, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Charsheet.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Charsheet.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator.
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you have questions about copyright tagging of images, post on Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags or User talk:Carnildo/images. 12:45, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
