User:Epicgenius/NYCS next
[[{{{station}}} ({{{line}}})|{{{station}}}]]: {{ NYCS {{{service}}} |type= | time=1 | line= | skip= |line2= |exclude= }}
Usage
This is a helper template to format the "next station" section of Template:Infobox NYCS.
Template format:
{{ NYCS next | type = | type2 = | station = | line = | line = | service = | skip = | exclude = | terminal = }}
Parameter descriptions:
- type: Type of station. This is usually "local" or "express", but any text can be provided. Leaving out this parameter will not produce a parenthetical statement.
- station: The next station north or south
- line: The line in which the station belongs to
- service: The corresponding service template—see Wikipedia:WikiProject New York City Public Transportation/New York City Subway/Lines#Service templates
- skip: For skip-stop services
- line2: The line in which the next skip-stop station belongs to, if different from the line that's given
- exclude: To exclude a service from the next-stop link
- terminal: To input text other than the standard station/line links (note: the "line" and "station" parameters will not work if "terminal" is used, and vice versa)
- type2: For some {{NYCS ...}} templates, there is an extra parameter called "type", so type2 is used for that template's "type" parameter.
Sample
The code:
{{NYCS next | type=local | station=23rd Street | line=IND Sixth Avenue Line | service=Sixth local | exclude=M }}
produces: 23rd Street (local): F <F>
In the context of Template:Infobox NYCS, this is the "next station south" of 34th Street – Herald Square (IND Sixth Avenue Line) or the "next station north" of 14th Street (IND Sixth Avenue Line), but the M train is excluded.
The code:
{{NYCS next | terminal=(Terminus) | service=Stillwell | exclude=M }}
produces: (Terminus): D F <F> N Q
In the context of Template:Infobox NYCS, this is the "next station south" of Coney Island – Stillwell Avenue, a terminal station with no stations south of it.
This template should not be used at stations where the services share the same next stops, but their railroad directions conflict (as in the BMT Myrtle Avenue Line and the west end of the BMT Jamaica Line). {{S-line}} should be used instead. It also should not be used in stations of the Staten Island Railway, where s-line is also used. Category:Template-Class New York City public transportation articles
