Alternate routes
[edit]If there were Alternate routes in the past why are there not now? --Patricknoddy 13:55, 26 Jul 2004 (UTC)User:Patricknoddy User talk:Patricknoddy 9:51 July 26, 2004 (EDT)
- Shoudn't there be a Old Alternate routes section. --User:Patricknoddy User talk:Patricknoddy 17:52 December 23, 2004 (EDT)
- That section should more appropriately be titled "Bannered routes", and include business routes and other types that may have existed. I don't see the problem with listing old and current ones together if it's made clear which is which. [1] has all the old ALT routes. There were once N/S splits - [2]. [3] has other bannered routes too. --SPUI 23:52, 23 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Interesting fact
[edit]I noticed one route sign for US 10 west of Missoula, MT (at the Airport) that says - I believe - TO US 10 (can't remember which direction). Not worthy of mention in the article (it's original research), but its an interesting piece of trivia. There are many areas (some referenced) in the nation where US shields are present on decommissioned routes. --master_sonLets talk 15:19, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
- Indeed, you see one for US-99 (now WA-99) on the University Street on-ramp to the (soon-to-be-demolished) Alaskan Way Viaduct in Downtown Seattle. Ahfretheim (talk) 06:40, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
