IARU Regions 1 & 3: Field Day updates?
[edit]I just updated the FD listing for the 2018 Field Day in the "International" section. We need the other two sections updated. IARU Region 1 has not had any updates about Field Day since 2012! And Region 3 has never been updated.
I, and I'm sure all of us fellow Hams, would like to see timely updates to this section. We need at least one person from each of these regions to do a little research into Field Day, or Field Day-like activities in Regions 1 & 3, then update the appropriate sections with the pertinent and timely information.
Having an out-of-date website or Wikipedia page regarding an Amateur Radio activity does not bode well with the international Internet community. Leaving an information page about Field Day incorrect, which is, at best, several years old, reflects poorly on Amateur Radio.
I am a citizen of the United States, so I updated the Field Day information for Region 2. Will someone please step up to the plate and update Regions 1 & 3? Thank you, and 73. Erzahler (talk) 06:54, 23 May 2018 (UTC)
》Something else occurred to me. IARU Region 2 covers the United States and Canada. Is that the US & Canada ONLY? What about Mexico? And for that matter, are the countries in Central and South America, and the Caribbean countries, included in Region 2? And what of the Windward and Leeward Islands; the Lesser and Greater Antilles island chains (which includes the Bahamas and Cuba); and the island nation of Bermuda -- are they also included in Region 2? These are questions for which I do NOT have answers. Will someone be willing to take on this bit of research, then update the section with the appropriate information and event dates? A contest?
[edit]Field day is not a contest and never was to be that. This is just another reason why I don not participate. The wiki is totally incorrect. http://www.candiditsolutions.com 16:19, 23 June 2023 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by N9ami (talk • contribs)
