There was an RFD for this redirect on February 12, 2006. Only one person chimed in, and I'll cut and paste what they said here since it's so painful to find stuff on Wikipedia: "Weak Keep; inaccurate, but valid continuation of 8-bit era, 32-bit era 128-bit era, etc. smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 14:44, 12 February 2006 (UTC)"
Obviously this is silly, so perhaps the best thing to do is to make sure no one actually uses this redirect on Wikipedia itself.
